Legal and Sanctions
A go-to-market product needs explicit limits for jurisdictions, sanctioned entities, payments, and operator responsibilities.
Not legal advice
This page is product policy, not legal advice. Torna operators, brands, suppliers, cardholders, and users are responsible for following laws that apply to them.
Sanctions and restricted use
- Torna must not knowingly transact with sanctioned persons, entities, wallets, providers, or jurisdictions where service is prohibited.
- Operators may block, geofence, pause settlement, or request additional review when sanctions or payment risk is identified.
- Suppliers and cardholders must not use Torna to disguise ownership, origin of funds, or prohibited counterparties.
Advertising gate
Before paid advertising, Torna needs jurisdiction review, sanctions policy approval, treasury custody decisions, emergency support ownership, and published public terms.
Lawful requests and safety
The operator should maintain an emergency process for credible safety risks and lawful preservation requests, while minimizing user data and avoiding over-collection.
